What: AAA Northern New England, Maine Bureau of Highway Safety, South Portland Police, State Police, AT&T, Poland Spring Brand 100% Natural Spring Water, Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles, as well as a host of other traffic safety advocacy groups will be on hand with interactive exhibits to encourage safe teen driving. Come test your safe driving skills and knowledge!!
Who: Calling all young drivers and soon-to-be drivers and their parents
Why: Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for Maine teenagers. Per miles driven, the crash rate for teens 16 to 19 is four times higher than for adults. This crash risk is even higher during the first year of licensure and when teens are accompanied by their peers. This event will challenge the driving skills of Maine students while engaging them in safe driving activities.
When: Friday, August 23rd 11am-3pm
Where: Various exhibited and interactive experiences in the Maine Mall, near Starbucks and in the parking lot in front of Round1.

The expo is free and open to the public. It is being held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, August 23rd at the Maine Mall. AAA representatives will host teen driver safety educational activities with DUI “drunk and marijuana impaired goggles”, virtual reality driving simulators, sharing the road with trucks, a cone course, and other diving activities to help teens and parents understand the risks and dangers in their early years of driving. All participants will be eligible to win Maine Mall gift cards, AAA Driving School tuition, and other great prizes
