WHAT: AAA Northern New England, East End Community School and Portland Police Department are combining efforts to prevent traffic tragedies as students return to school in cars and buses, as well as on bikes and on foot. AAA will also release a new public service announcements (PSA) encouraging passengers to speak up to prevent distracted driving.

WHY: As many Maine students return to school for the first time since the pandemic began, AAA is reminding drivers, parents and students to to be especially vigilant before and after school hours. To prevent traffic-related injuries and fatalities to students heading back to school, drivers need to slow down and stay alert in school zones and in neighborhoods.
